About Dr. Berkowitz

Doctor Berkowitz has been practicing plastic surgery since 1979 and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery—the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties to certify plastic surgeons. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine. He served a residency in both general surgery and plastic surgery at the University of Michigan. Doctor Berkowitz served as assistant professor at Stanford University from 1979 – 1982 at which time he was director of the Burn Unit at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Since 1982, Doctor Berkowitz has been in private practice in the Los Gatos/Campbell area where he currently resides.

In addition to his work here, Doctor Berkowitz has traveled extensively throughout Latin America with the Interplast organization treating children and adults in impoverished areas with difficult plastic and reconstructive surgery problems.

Doctor Berkowitz is past chairman of the Division of Plastic Surgery at The Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose and is a member of many regional and national medical societies, including the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is an associate member of the prestigious Rhinoplasty Society.

Virginia has been a Registered Nurse for over 25 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Paterson University and has worked in the Medical Surgical , Home Health Care and Patient Education settings. She has been an Aesthetic Nurse Specialist since 2003 and has had the distinct privilege of working under the direction of Plastic Surgeon, Dr. R. Laurence Berkowitz. She has completed and continues to attend numerous education and training courses for the administration of Dermal Fillers and Botulinum Toxins.

Virginia provides patients with highly skilled, carefully administered and safe procedures using a wide choice of FDA approved Dermal Fillers and Botulinum Toxins to smooth facial lines and wrinkles. Most procedures are quick, comfortable and have little or no down time with almost immediate results.
